As part of the Jacobs and Aurecon Independent Certification team, our Surveillance Officer played a key role in the Rozelle Rail Yard Upgrade, a critical component of the Rozelle Interchange Project. This major road construction project supports the development of a fully underground motorway interchange, linking the M4-M5 Link Tunnels to the City West Link and providing a toll-free bypass of Victoria Road between the Iron Cove Bridge and Anzac Bridge. Our role involved ensuring compliance with Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) specifications by conducting detailed inspections and gathering evidence of conformance across key project elements, including earthworks, piling, drainage, concrete pavements, and road safety barriers. We also performed weekly safety, traffic, and environmental inspections to uphold regulatory and contractual requirements. Additionally, we participated in pre-switch and defect walks alongside TfNSW representatives to identify and address potential issues before project completion. Through our independent certification and surveillance, we contributed to the successful delivery of a safe, high-quality, and fully compliant road infrastructure project within this transformative motorway development.
The Wentworth Avenue and Baker Street Upgrade in Banksmeadow is a key congestion relief project jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments as part of a $240 million initiative to improve traffic flow and stimulate economic recovery post-COVID-19. Designed by Bayside Council and delivered by Transport for NSW (TfNSW), this project focused on enhancing intersection efficiency, safety, and overall road network performance. As part of the TfNSW team, our Surveillance Officer played a critical role in ensuring that all construction activities complied with various TfNSW specifications. This involved conducting compliance inspections, gathering conformance evidence, and verifying that works were completed to the required standards. Additionally, we were responsible for signing off on hold points and witness points for different TfNSW specifications, ensuring that key construction milestones met regulatory and contractual obligations before progressing. In addition, we carried out weekly safety, traffic, and environmental inspections to uphold best practices and mitigate potential risks. Through our commitment to quality and compliance, we contributed to the successful delivery of a safer, more efficient intersection, improving traffic flow and connectivity for the local community.
